"I Carry Your Heart With Me"

By: E.E. Cummings

I carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

The poem "I Carry Your Heart With Me" is about a person who has lost someone who they loved, but that person is trying to say that they will never forget about the person they lost. This person is also describing everything that they felt for the person they loved and how they will remember that person they lost. I think the author wrote this because he was going through similar situation. I think he wanted to dedicate this poem to the person in his similar situation.

This poem reminds me of my great grandpa who died a couple weeks ago. I could connect to this poem because I also loved someone who I loved and who I will never forget. I could also connect many sad love poems like "Love and Hate" by Devin Wegner to this poem. This poem could also connect with many people on Earth with similar situations. So many people are loosing their loved ones every day, and to remind them just because their gone doesn't means their gone and they could be with you all the time.
